Meet the Cascadial Wrap:

Have you been hunting for a great pattern to show off mini skeins, gradients, or favorite leftover bits? Is mosaic knitting on your list of things to try? Then say hello the Cascadial Wrap!

Mixing simple lace and mosaic motifs, Cascadial makes a great intro project for exploring a popular colorwork technique while being varied enough to hold the interest of experienced knitters. The bias construction sets the bands of color and lace on an angle, lending drama to the overall effect and drape to the finished piece. And thanks to Cascadial’s panel setup, all kinds of customizations — including length, width, and color scheme, all of which are addressed in the pattern and free planning worksheet — are a cinch.

The name is drawn from two sources: the peaks of the Cascade mountain range east of Portland, Oregon (the mosaic motif) and the image of frothing water cascading down a waterfall (the lace motif). When I pulled Cascadial off my blocking mats and draped it around my neck for the first time, I realized the name describes the wrap itself, too: the diagonal stripes of lace and colorwork cascade around you as you wear it.

Lace and mosaic instructions are both written and charted, and Cascadial has been tech edited and test knit, so you can cast on with confidence.
