Meet the Shineout Wrap:

We live in a world where it feels like a lot of the time we're supposed to outshine one another. Social media encourages us to put our best possible selves on display, edited until they're unrecognizable if necessary. Marketing messages invite us to compare our lives to some company's manufactured ideal and figure out what's lacking.

What if, instead, the way Shineout's diamond border cuts boldly through the lines around it, we decided to shine out into the world with whoever we are, just as we are, with whatever it is that makes us unique?

The Shineout Wrap is worked in two pieces and then joined using the three-needle bind-off. Symmetrical increases create triangular halves, one side of which is then bound off while the other is extended on the bias. Bands of diamond lace interrupt straight eyelet lines. Both motifs are geometric enough to handle heavily speckled yarn, and the pattern includes a link to a weight-based planning worksheet that will help you plan a version with more than two colors, if that’s your cup of tea. Want to alter the length or width? The pattern will help you there, too.

Lace is both written and charted.
