Picot Bind-Off

The picot bind-off is a way of finishing a knitted edge that creates little points or elongated scallops along that edge. This is done by casting on a small number of stitches, then binding off a slightly larger number, over and over across the edge. The length of the points is determined by how many stitches you cast on each time, while the distance between the points is determined by how many stitches you bind off. If you are knitting from a pattern, it should specify these numbers for you.

The following video demonstrates how to work the picot bind-off. Keep in mind that the number of stitches to cast on and bind off varies by pattern, so be sure to check yours before beginning.
